Ergonomic Desk F.A.Q.
- How durable is the Eco Curve desktop?
UPLIFT Desk Eco Curve desktops are made to be durable and will stand up well to the weathers of work. The Eco desktop is made of 100% recycled wood MDF, which is stronger and denser than particle board. The Eco desktop is more scratch resistant while the laminate desktop is more resistant to moisture or spills.
- Are there any special instructions for the care of the Eco Curve desktop?
We have specific care instructions available for download on the site. You will want to use coasters with very hot or very cold cups or plates and avoid cleaners with ammonia. You will also want to use a hard writing surface on your Eco Curve desktop, such as a clipboard, to avoid leaving indentations or scratches if you tend to write with force.
- What is the Eco top made of?
The Eco top has a recycled wood MDF core and is powder coated for a seamless finish. It's similar in appearance to our laminate desks, but slightly thinner with no border running around the edge.
- Does this desktop come in a thicker option than .75"?
The Eco Curve is only offered in .75" thickness.
- Is the 42" wide desktop available with a Curve?
Not at this time. Space is very precious on the 42" wide desktop and therefore it is not available with the ergonomic center curve.
- Does the Eco Curve top come in colors other than black and white?
Currently, the Eco Curve desktop comes in black or white color options.
- Can I get the Eco Curve top in a custom size/shape?
Unfortunately we are unable to do custom sizes and shapes in the Eco desktop. If you need a custom size or shape, we can craft a custom Wilsonart laminate desktop for you. Contact our customer service pros for more info!
- Can I get a sample of the Eco top?
Samples of the Eco desktops are not available at this time.
- Does the Eco Curve top have rounded corners or sharp corners?
The corners on our Eco Curve top are curved while the corners of the laminate desktop are square.
- What are those little holes underneath my desk on left and right sides?
These are pilot holes for your keypad or advanced digital keypad! Simply choose which side you want to install it on and get to work.
- Can I add my own desktop?
Yes! If you have your own desktop, you may purchase just the UPLIFT Desk frame without a desktop.
- How easy is this desk to put the desk together? Will I need more than one person?
You should be able to assemble the desk frame by yourself, as well as attach it to the desktop. However, you will need two people to safely turn the desk over and onto the legs after assembly. Check out our assembly video to see just how easy it will be to install your desk.
- Can I use the accessories I already own with this desk?
If you already own a keyboard tray, monitor arm, or CPU holder, you can certainly add these favorite accessories to your desk. Just double check the manufacturer's instructions to make sure that your accessory is compatible with the thickness of the desktop. Keep in mind that the crossbar on the UPLIFT desk may run across the center of the desk, depending on the size of your desktop, and may get in the way of a keyboard tray or CPU holder.
- Does the desk always have to be plugged in, or can I unplug it when it's not in use?
The UPLIFT Desk frame should be plugged in all the time. The low-draw power supply will minimize electricity consumption.
- Can I add grommets to my desk after I have already received it?
If you change your mind and want a different type of grommet for your desk, you may always order Wire Grommets or Power Grommets separately.
- I don't live in the United States; will this desk work with my outlets?
Yes. This desk uses an NH-type control box which can operate on any input voltage between 100 and 240 Vac. However, it comes with a standard 3-prong U.S. type grounded cord and plug. An appropriate plug adapter may be needed to fit various international grounded electrical sockets. Not sure if you have an NH-type control box? Check to see If your control box has a power indicator LED on the top side and a port on one end marked "DC". If so, you have an NH-type control box.
- How do I know which control box program I have?
Check the small label on the end of your control box. This label has all the information you need to tell which program is on your control box. Compare the program number on your control box that starts with "99" to the program numbers found on the control box compatibility list (pdf) determine what features can be accessed with your control box, as well as compatibility with the UPLIFT Bluetooth Adapter and Advanced Paddle Keypad. If your control box has a power indicator LED on the top side and a port on one end marked "DC", you have an NH-type control box. NH-type control boxes include all available program features and are compatible with the UPLIFT Bluetooth Adapter and Advanced Paddle Keypad.
- What features are included on the control box programs?
Control boxes shipped as far back as 2017 include upgraded safety features, including the integrated accelerometer and six-axis technology. This feature improves the sensitivity of the anti-collision detection, stopping the desk more effectively if it collides with anything during movement. Combined with our Advanced Keypads, these control boxes also include features such as a Keypad Lock feature that blocks the function of the keypad so other people can't access it, a safety benefit in home offices where children are present. Additionally, you'll be able to switch between One-Touch and Constant-Touch desk movement modes. NH-type control boxes include a "Double-Tap" movement option. Additionally, the LED display can show desk height in inches or centimeters. You can also set maximum and minimum desk height limits to prevent your desk from running into fixed objects like shelves or file cabinets. Compare the program number (starting with "99") on the control box label to the program numbers found on the control box compatibility list (pdf) determine the capabilities of your control box. If your control box has a power indicator LED on the top side and a port on one end marked "DC", you have an NH-type control box. NH-type control boxes include all available program features and are compatible with the UPLIFT Bluetooth Adapter and Advanced Paddle Keypad.
- What is a three-stage frame?
If you want more freedom to adjust higher and lower, you'll want a three-stage frame powering your sit-stand desk. Some brands use cheaper two-stage frames that don't offer the same height adjustability, which doesn't fit as many users, petite or tall users. UPLIFT Desk's three-stage frames even allow you the extra height you need to add a treadmill to your workstation.
- What are dual motors?
All two-leg UPLIFT Desks are designed with dual motors, which means each leg has a motor inside. This makes our height adjustable desks quieter, stronger, safer, and more stable than desks with a single motor driving both legs.
- What happens if my desk stops working outside of the warranty period?
We offer replacement parts for all UPLIFT Desk models if your desk malfunctions after the warranty period has ended.
- Does the desk come pre-drilled with holes for assembly?
We pre-drill guide holes for the frame and the desk's keypad. You can choose to use these guide holes or drill your own if you would like to adjust the frame. This desk is highly customizable, but we do not pre-drill guide holes for accessories so that you can place them in any configuration you choose.

I liked my first one so much, I bought another for the office.
This is one of the best looking desks I've ever owned. By far the best looking standing desk, I've seen. I bought one for my home office a few months ago and when my company asked what desk I wanted for my office. I did not hesitate to buy another.
Buy this desk and you will be very happy.. -
Great Desk
Sturdy, easy to install, looks great.

Perfect desk
This is the one. I too work from home and needed something flexible for sitting and standing. Assembly was easy (I did it myself) with pre-drilled holes and an instruction guide - easy. I went with the reclaimed douglas fir and it is beautiful. I recommend springing for the delivery service because this is heavy. It is very sturdy. I purchased the swivel little desk tray and the laptop tray both of which leave my desktop pretty clean. I also purchased the treadmill too - which definitely needs delivery service. No issues whatsoever. Recommend!

Beautiful desk
I work from home for a software company and require 2 monitors. My wife found this desk searching for a desk large enough we could share it in our small home office area. We loved the idea of having a reclaimed teak desk and it matches the cedar trim in our home here in the Pacific Northwest.
The desk arrived on time with no damage and was easy to assemble. Be forewarned - the desk is heavy and a little help will be needed during assembly. Our top was pre-drilled and assembly was pretty easy.
Now, being an IT professional - I have a different preference than the power strip we received as part of the kit. But it does the job.
There were no issues and we will recommend Human Solution products. -
Gorgeous and functional
It is an incredibly beautiful desk. A slightly different tint than the one pictured but I suppose it is to be expected when it is refurbished. We bought the 80x30 and are using it as a double desk. My husband and I both can game comfortably on it. We bought this desk specifically because I had back surgery and can't sit to game for extended periods of time, this desk gives me the ability to game longer (yay, lol). It is incredibly easy to put together.
The keypad with programmable buttons is an amazing feature!!! I absolutely love it. The wheels are something I also would suggest purchasing, they make any wire adjustments or connection much easier. The wire management kit is also nice if you are interested in keeping wires out of sight. We did splurge on the CPU holder but ended up not using at this point. But we have it if we change our minds. I highly recommend it. -
Solid and good looking desk
I was patient before I decided on the Uplift desk and that prolonged patience was coupled with careful review of different brands and products..
My desk was delivered in about one week from Texas to Washington state. The parts came in three packages as I purchased the CPU holder. Assembly took about 45 minutes and was very straight forward with good instructions. All I needed was a screwdriver and the supplied allen wrench.
I recommend this desk to anyone looking for an electronic adjustable height desk. -
Refurbished top is the way to go
I considered several companies for a desk like this and was attracted to this because of the refurbished surface. I'm thrilled with my purchase. This is quieter than the standing desk I have at work. I went with the 72" instead of just the 60" and it meets my needs perfectly. I keep 3 monitors on my desk and there's room to put my work laptop there as well, sort of in front of one of the other monitors. the surface of the desk is very smooth despite being refurbished wood. It's clear they sanded it down before coating it. It's VERY nice quality.
I opted for the keypad with 4 programmable adjustable settings. At work I use a standing desk with only the up/down arrows. It gets annoying having to hold the buttons because I have to stop what I'm doing and wait for the desk to adjust. With this keypad I can just press a button and go get coffee, make a phone call, etc.
I highly advise splurging on the cable management and cpu holder. You'll have to either get longer cables for your minors/mouse/keyboard anyways, so for the cost the holder is a no brainer. Cables are much more visible when the desk is standing than they are on any sitting desk, so you won't regret it. I considered ordering cable management components on Amazon because this pack felt expensive, but having ordered their kit, I'd highly recommend going with it. You get plenty of everything you need and the power strip can attach to the bottom of the desk, which is harder to find.
Pros:
+ Extremely quiet
+ Smooth surface
+ Available in 72" width
Cons: - Not available in a darker stain -
love it!
Received order this week and looks and feels fantastic. Everyone who's seen it so far has loved it. I ordered the advanced memory key pad to set it like i want it which is awesome and very smooth when it goes up or down. Such a difference to be able to work at all different levels. Its only been a few days but so far i love it. The assembly was fairly straightforward. Took me about 2 hours...taking my time! I got all the other accessories for cable management and as an FYI the clamp surge protector does not fit on the desk. Had i read the all the details prior i would have seen this but i can still clamp it on metal part...just not as nice but no biggie. I also ordered the motion stool which so far i like...it is a smaller surface then a regular chair so not as comfortable long term to sit...BUT that' the point, then you stand up and move a little!
Response from The Human Solution: Thanks for your comments, Mathieu! The clamp-on USB surge protector will not fit on the edge of the reclaimed wood desktops, as you mentioned, but most people find that it's a good compromise to clamp it onto the desk frame ends. It's not quite as convenient, but so many people wanted the extra functionality of that surge protector, and some people like to have all of the cables hidden away under the desk so will even clamp it onto the bottom with thinner desktops. I'm glad that option is working out for you!

Now that's one good looking desk
After a bulging disc in my back I visited the Chiropractor and he strongly suggested I invest in a Standing Desk. Certainly there are MUCH cheaper options than an electric standing desk with reclaimed wood but I figured if I'm going to spend on one I'm at least going to get one I liked. Boy am I glad I did. This desk is awesome!
I added the advanced keypad and I use all 4 settings. Currently I'm between 3 seated positions and a standing one. I'm up and down every hour or so. Doing any one position too long becomes fatiguing so it's great to have this much freedom. The reclaimed wood top looked a little different in person than on the website. I wasn't sure at first if it was for me. But I'm a big fan now. I was also worried about the uneven surface and seems in a reclaimed wood top vs a solid piece of wood. But I wasn't going to go with the solid wood top because the cost was too much. It's been about a month now and I haven't had any problems using either of my mice on it (logitech and Apple Magic Mouse). I got a mousepad just in case but so far haven't needed it.
I also added on the Wire Management kit. It definitely helps to manage all my cables and I have a lot with 3 laptops and a set of 2.1 speakers on it.
Building it wasn't hard.
If I sound like I'm gushing it's because this is probably the most satisfying thing I've bought in a long time. The only negative I have is the cost. Just over a thousand dollars for a desk was more than steep. It was a hair into the too much realm. If I didn't work from home I wouldn't have bought it. I'm glad I did. But $800 sounds more reasonable.
Pros:
+ quality construction
+ smooth operation
+ pretty
+ easy to put together
