UPLIFT Sit-Stand Desk Frame Only

Gray UPLIFT V2 Standing Desk Frame

Why Work Is Better with an UPLIFT Desk

Designed with high expectations for both functionality and style, when you invest in an UPLIFT V2 Sit-Stand Desk Frame, you get so much more than height adjustability. You'll get some pretty brag-worthy benefits, too:

    • Certified sturdy and strong, it passed the ANSI/BIFMA X5.5-2021 Desk Standard for durability
    • Ability to attach desk accessories directly to your frame via 48 patented mounts
    • 3-stage legs are 33% faster than 2-stage legs, so you get to sitting and standing heights quicker
    • Powerful dual motors (one in each leg) can lift up to 355 lb of gear
    • Included anti-collision sensitivity restricts your desk from moving if it bumps into people or things
    • 15 year warranty on all frame, mechanical, and electrical components
    • Distraction-free 48 dB operation noise lets you raise and lower the desk without breaking your focus

Let's Discuss Height Ranges

We're excited to give users two different frame options when it comes to their desks: the UPLIFT V2 Frame and the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame. Click here (pdf) to see their differences at a glance.

We'll start with the UPLIFT V2 Frame. This office-ready frame has a height range of 25.5" - 51.1" (with a 1" desktop installed). Users love it for its sturdiness, its quiet adjustments, and its smart features—which are just a few of the reasons why it was selected as the "Best Standing Desk" by Wirecutter.

Our other frame option is the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame. This frame has a lower minimum height of 22.6" (with a 1" desktop installed). It also has a larger overall height-adjustment range compared to the UPLIFT V2 Frame. And you'll be glad to know it meets both the ANSI/BIFMA G1-2013 height standard and the ANSI/BIFMA durability standard.

The commercial frame also supports working postures (pdf) for 5th percentile females through 95th percentile males, sitting and standing.

An Easier Way to Add Accessories

If you look underneath your new UPLIFT V2 Sit-Stand Desk Frame and see a team of holes—you just found our patented mounting system. These spots let you use your desk with a growing collection of desk accessories, and remain discreetly hidden, so you keep a clean look at your workstation.

Your accessory options are many, and include attachable CPU holders, a foot hammock, power strips, and even an under-desk hammock. This is perfect for when you're in the mood to take a load off (and maybe even a mid-afternoon nap).

With a wide array of accessories planned for release, you'll be able to piece together the perfect workstation that works for you.

Please note: the under desk hammock is only compatible with the UPLIFT V2 Frame. It's not compatible with the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame, due to its interference with the stability crossbar.

Upgrade to the Advanced Keypad for More Features

Our standard keypad will get you working, but if you want access to all of your desk's features, you'll need the Advanced Keypad.

This desk has a great memory, and lets you work with one-touch adjustments on four easy-to-program buttons. Just tap a button and move.

You'll get advanced safety features, too. Activate the keypad child lock so that curious little fingers don't adjust your desk without your permission. And set your frame's max and min height limits, preventing your desk from knocking into shelves above, or file cabinets below. If it does bump into something, the control box has an anti-collision sensitivity feature that stops the desk from moving.

Last but not least, an auto-dark LED display will help you reduce distractions; 10 seconds after use, your keypad will dim to focus-assisting darkness.

Bamboo Desktop FAQs

  1. What types of desktops can I install on this frame?

You'll have the freedom to install most types of tops, but we do advise choosing a desktop that's at least 3/4" to 1" thick and 42" to 80" wide. The top you choose will also need to be compatible with wood screws, which are used to connect the frame to the desktop. Some good desktop materials that we've found to be ideal include: solid wood, laminate, bamboo, and other sturdy materials.

  2. Is it possible to add a circular desktop?

We have seen our customers install circular tops, yes! Just make sure your top is at least 3/4" - 1" thick and is centered on top of the frame.

  3. Can I install a glass desktop?

Glass is a little trickier to install, but if you have a bit of experience with DIY, you might be able to install a glass desktop that has been first installed on another material (like wood). This will allow you to successfully attach it to the UPLIFT V2 Stand Up Frame.

  4. Does this come with the hardware needed to attach a desktop to the frame?

Yes, your new frame will include the wood screws necessary to attach your frame to your desktop. Just double-check that the wood screws are not longer than the desktop is thick before starting the installation process.

  5. Can I paint my frame?

No, painting the frame would compromise the leg as it retracts.

Made with the same UPLIFT V2 Frame that Wirecutter named the "Best Standing Desk, 2019-2020 and in 2020-2021" you'll be able to do so much more at this workstation—thanks to increased stability, newly-added safety features, and a patented mounting system (which lets you really customize your desk down to the last detail).

Enjoy working at this powerfully reliable desk frame. Made with steel and sealed with a powder-coat finish, this frame gives you carte blanche for your desktop, meaning that you can DIY it or choose one of ours. If you're looking for this frame and a desktop, see our UPLIFT V2 Standing Desk.

You can choose this frame or the UPLIFT V2-Commercial Frame. Click here (pdf) to see the contrast between the two frames.

    Great product

Posted by Ken on Apr 22nd 2014

I purchased this about a month ago for my office desk and it has worked out great. It took me about an hour to disassemble my old desk for the top and assemble the new legs. Everything fit together well and feels quite sturdy with no shaking. I've been standing throughout the majority of the day ever since. It goes up and down with the touch of the switch and has my pre-programmed heights in memory. There is tremendous value here and the reviews online proved to me that this was a very high quality product even before I bought it. I'm glad that was the case now that I'm using it. Highly recommended.

    UpLift 920

Posted by Paul Martens on Apr 4th 2014

I have now purchased and personally installed both the Uplift 700 & the Uplift 920. The Uplift 920 is the same as the Uplift 900 with the only difference being that you don't install the included cross support on the frame and instead use your desktop as the cross support. Not using the crossbar works on all but the flimsiest desktops. In my experience, both of these products seem to be equally excellent quality. As of the writing of this review the 920 costs $264 less then the 700 basically because HS is buying the product direct from the manufacturer versus through a distributor for the 700 where there is another layer of mark-up. I purchased the 700 for my wife's desk located at her very quiet office at work and the 700 seems to function slightly quieter than the 920 which I installed in my home office but the ambient noise is certainly different at work vs home so i'm not certain about this. The negative with the 700 is it only has two telescoping sections versus three with the 920 so the 920 has which also has much more vertical travel capabilities than the 700. On the 920 you can slightly see the internal white (probably delrin/nylon) telescoping guides on the leg that enable the 3 leg sections to go up/down smoothly with no wobble in the desk. Other positives of the 920 is it has a much more stable mounting at the desk and a larger foot print (meaning more stability) on the floor. The features I like most about the 920 is the lower cost and being much more stable than the 700. I could easily recommend purchasing either of these units.

    Perfect!

Posted by Jane on Mar 6th 2014

I bought the Ergonomic Desk base only and but my Ikea counter top on it and its perfect! It was less expensive for me (i'm in Canada) to ship it without the top. I was very well informed of the S&I and duty fees, so no surprise. Great in my kitchen! I now have a kitchen table AND a counter. And a standing desk when I want to change from my office room. Greaaat!

    Bomber solid base!

Posted by Dan Richardson on Feb 10th 2014

I bought this after building a fixed-height desk, and wasn't satisfied with it. My design was good, but about 1-2" too high for daily use, and I added a platform under my feet - typical Goldilocks situation.

I did my research, and the UpLift looked to be the best value-for-dollar out there - especially since I already had a top from my other desk.

Everything arrived great (it's HEAVY!), packaging secure, good instructions, all parts and fasteners there, plenty of cable ties. Everything went together very easily and without drama.

    Nice work!

Base only is a great idea

Posted by Jeremy Wadsworth on Jan 30th 2014

I was so happy to find the base for sale. I have desk I really like and I didn't want to change it other than having it raise and lower. This was the perfect solution. I also use a LifeSpan TR1200 Treadmill with my desk. With this base attached to my own desk, my setup is just about perfect.

I've been using this for about 4.5 months without any trouble. It's quiet and smooth. The controls mounted nicely under my desk, and work great. I do not use the crossbars. I have a Humanscale keyboard tray that would not allow the crossbars to be installed.

I highly recommend this product for someone trying to keep their current desk, or wanting to use their own top.

    Brilliant product!

Posted by Jeremy W on Jan 21st 2014

I've been watching the Sit-Stand movement for several years. As a software developer and business owner, I've spent many years @ 6-7 days a week in a chair. I finally decided, after several years of back pain, that I needed to make some kind of change. Through much research I decided I needed a sit stand desk and a treadmill to go under it. I ended up purchasing the Uplift 900 and attaching it under my current desk. It works great and I got to keep my desk. I have a LifeSpan TR1200 treadmill that I walk on while standing at my desk. When I want to sit, I lower the desk and flip the treadmill up on its side to make room for my chair.

The UpLift 900 is great. I've owned it for 4 months. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Note from Human Solution: We understand that you used your existing desktop with this UpLift base. We want to mention though that if in the future you use a 72 inch or 80 inch wide desktop with your UpLift Base you will be able to set the chair next to the treadmill and eliminate the need to flip the treadmill on it's edge. One beauty of the UpLift base it that it has an extendable telescoping cross brace and can be used on a 48 inch desktop all the way up to a 80 inch desktop or larger with no problems.
