F.A.Q.
- How do I set my monitor at an ergonomic height?
It only takes a few steps to get your monitor at the right height and tilt for comfortable viewing throughout the workday. For simple instructions, check out this PDF on how to set up your monitor.
- Can I use a monitor that is outside of the weight capacity?
The Range Single Monitor Arm is rated to hold 4.5 lb - 17.5 lb. That means that its counterbalance mechanism can keep the monitor in position within that weight range. When you attach a monitor that's either heavier or lighter, the monitor will rise to its maximum height or drift to its minimum.
- Does the Range Single Monitor Arm have a width limit?
There is no monitor width limit set for this arm—most monitors would exceed the weight capacity before they got too wide to use.
- Which monitor arm should I choose?
You'll want to take into account the size and weight of your monitor and the size and shape of your desktop. A good place to get your starting measurements is our ergonomic calculator. This simple tool will tell you where you need to position your monitor, and you can then take those specs and adapt them to your desktop.
Once you know what you need for your monitor arm (in terms of reach, height adjustability, and weight capacity), you can compare those specs to our selection of monitor arms.
The Range Single Monitor Arm by UPLIFT Desk can hold one monitor that weighs from 4.5 lb - 17.5 lb, and it has a height adjustability range of 4.25" - 18.75" (as measured from the center of the VESA mount). Check the specifications tab for even more information about the Range Single Monitor Arm.
- The monitor arm isn't staying in place. How do I fix that?
If you mounted a monitor within the specified weight range, you may just need to make a simple adjustment to the arm's tension (using the Allen wrench included with your monitor arm).
Find the tension control screw on top of the base of the arm; it should have a "+" and a "-" sign around it. If your monitor sinks down, turn the screw towards the "+" to increase the tension. If your monitor keeps rising, turn the screw towards the "-" to lower the tension. While you're making these adjustments, we recommend holding the monitor arm parallel to the desktop.
- How does the quick-release VESA mount work?
The Range Single Monitor Arm comes with a quick-release VESA mount, which makes it much easier to attach your monitor. After you install a 75 mm / 100 mm VESA plate on the back of your monitor, all you have to do is clip it in place on the monitor arm. There's no more need to hold your monitor in the air while you tighten screws to attach it to a monitor arm.
If you need to remove your monitor, just press the tab—it slides right off.
- Does the Range come as a dual monitor arm?
Yes, the Range Dual Monitor Arm by UPLIFT Desk holds two monitors, or a monitor and a laptop (with the optional Range Laptop Mount. Both arms have a similar range of adjustability, with some variation in height range, side-to-side movement, and monitor width requirements.
If you have two very wide monitors, we recommend purchasing two Range Single Monitor Arms. Splitting the arms up lets you install them far enough apart to preserve adjustability for your widescreen monitors.
- My desktop doesn't have any open grommets. How do I install the Range Single Monitor Arm using the bolt-through mount? How much room does that leave for cables?
You will need to drill a hole between 0.4" and 3.15" in diameter. If you choose a 0.4" diameter, there won't be any room for cables. A 2.5" hole leaves enough room for a standard monitor cable.
- Can I use this with other desks?
Yes, this accessory is compatible with UPLIFT and non-UPLIFT desks.
Model
The UPLIFT Monitor Arm is available for monitors weighing between 4.5 and 17.5 pounds. Using a display that is too light or too heavy for the arm will keep the arm from maintaining its position once set. Please check the weight of your monitor to be sure that this monitor arm will work for your setup. If you are unsure how to determine the weight of your monitor, you can contact us for assistance.

My First Monitor-Arm
I decided to purchase this monitor-arm because it seemed like a safe bet to be compatible with my UPLIFT desk, and I'm glad I did. I no longer am using piles of books and cardboard-boxes to change the height of my monitor.
Pros:
Good instructions
Easy to install
Sturdy -
Great and functional Arm
I got this arm when I bought a chair from The Human Solution. I was worried that it wasn't going to hold my monitor, but it actually works perfectly. I had a 27" LED monitor on it, and now I have my LG 34UC87 Ultrawide monitor on it. It still works amazingly and is extremely convenient. I'm looking for another arm right now for my new office and I'm a bit upset that this doesn't have a grommet or bolt option as this is the arm I wanted to get, but it looks like I have to find something else.
Pros: Holds large LED monitors (the LG 34UC87 is 17.6lbs without the stand)
Extremely versatile in monitor positions
Helps with ergonomics
Cons: As far as I can tell, it ONLY mounts with a clamp -
Form follows function
Attractively functional. well conceived design, manufacture, etc. great quality throughout.
Cons: swing/height limiter sets would be nice, so you can restrict the full motion for some settings -
Makes a Great Microscope Stand Also!!!
I puchased this to give my Bausch & Lomb microscope some mobility. It worked out very nicely. All I had to do is purchase some 5" x 5" angle iron, drill 8 holes and tap 4 of them.
Pros: Plenty of degrees of freedom. -
Excellent!
Very well done product. Using version for heavier monitors. Just exactly what I needed. Solid.

Built very well. Very nice!
Built very well, Very nice! I purchased two for my dual monitor setup (27" monitors) and paid half the price of other brands I looked at. I have ergotron arms at work and these are better. Having both of my monitors on individual arms (instead of buying a dual monitor arm) functions well for me since sometimes I turn a monitor to show co-workers and customers and thus need it mounted to the side of my desk. worth the price, Great product easy assembly and adjustment. I work on a 13" Cintiq drawing tablet and I'm always craning my neck to look down at it. I mounted it onto this bad boy and now my drawing experience has completely changed.
Pros: I'm quite impressed.
Cons: Note that it seemed stiff during setup. Then I mounted my monitor on an arm and it worked perfectly. As soon as it supports the weight of a monitor it becomes balanced, moveable but solid. It has been a big help in my neck comfort and my eyes feel better after looking at the monitor all day.
