What are these organizations?
ANSI - American National Standards Institute, a private non-profit organization that oversees the development of voluntary consensus standards for products, services, processes, systems, and personnel in the United States.
HFES - Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the largest professional society for human factors and ergonomics professionals.
BIFMA - Business and Institutional Furniture Industry, the not‐for-profit trade association for business and institutional furniture manufacturers who develops, maintains, and publishes safety and performance standards for furniture products.
UPLIFT 900 Series Desks completely meet all requirements of BIFMA/ANSI X5.5-2008 Test Sections 4.3, 4.5, 5.2-5.5, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 & 15.0. We encourage you to compare our quality to anyone else's. With UPLIFT Desks, quality is our primary objective!
- If your workplace does not require this compliance, or for general use, we recommend going with our standard UPLIFT 900 desk. Many ergonomists and customers find that a higher height range is beneficial, especially from an ergonomic standpoint. The standard version has an added height adjustment range, from 24.5” to 50.5”, which is useful when pairing with ergonomic and standing desk accessories like an anti-fatigue mat or a desk treadmill.
