The Nightingale CXO 6200 Mesh Chair doesn’t always get the appreciation it deserves. You may be wonder then why we bothered to write a blog about it. Good question. To clarify, the Nightingale CXO 6200 is rarely mentioned in the same breath with other notable chairs like the Humanscale Freedom Chair or the Raynor Ergohuman Chair. It seems the CXO simply does not have the name recognition of the other two chairs, but maybe that'll change once more people learn about the CXO's exceptional ergonomic features.
Chairs like the Raynor Ergohuman and Humanscale Freedom have been on the front-line of ergonomics for many years. In many ways, they are synonymous with ergonomic seating. The Nightingale CXO 6200 doesn't seem to have quite the same cachet yet. But while the Nightingale CXO Chair costs about the same as the Humanscale Freedom Chair, many people find the CXO may be significantly more comfortable.
A mesh chair with excellent lumbar support is a rare combination. Typically, with a mesh chair you do end up sacrificing lumbar support, but that’s not the case with the Nightingale CXO 6200. Also, the CXO’s seat cushioning is on par with some of the best chairs we sell. We frequently get calls from customer's looking for chairs with good padding. It's rare to find that in a mesh chair but Nightingale has somehow pulled it off with this one.
Those who are familiar with the Nightingale CXO 6200 may think of it as a “big chair,” one geared toward users with larger body types. But that's a bit of a misconception. While the Nightingale CXO 6200 is a deep-seated chair with a higher than average weight capacity (275 lbs), this chair is designed for a wide range of users and body types. (See The Nightingale CXO 6200-HD Mesh Chair for Big and Tall Users for one of our favorite "big chairs," with a weight capacity of 450 lbs.)
Here are even more excellent ergonomic features the Nightingale CXO has to offer:
- The seat features resilient Enersorb memory foam that contours to fit your body
- The seat also incorporates a “waterfall” edge design that relieves pressure on the thighs and promotes better posture
- The gel lumbar support pad is height and depth adjustable
- The optional adjustable headrest is filled with Enersorb memory foam for extra comfort
